Chapter 3: Gamsa's 2024 Wrap-Up

Happy Holidays Everyone!

As the year draws to an end, we’ve been reflecting a lot recently on the last 12 months. One thing we’ve realized? Motivation and energy aren’t endless resources—who knew!? Sure, they’re both renewable, but it takes effort, time, and intention in order to recharge. And let’s be honest, some days we’re better at this than others.

Our three person team has been doing the most to build Gamsa (still shooting for a launch in early 2025) while juggling business school, a full time job, and other responsibilities and that takes a toll. It’s a lot, and we’ll admit that pausing to check in with ourselves doesn’t always make the to-do list. But we’re getting there—slowly but surely. Lately, we’ve been working on recognizing when we need to hit pause, rest, or change a habit that looks productive but is really just…not. Turns out, “hustle culture” isn’t cute when you’re running on fumes.

December has been a particularly difficult month! Between holiday commitments and work and school deadlines, staying mindful hasn’t been easy. However, it’s during this time that we’ve felt most grateful to know that we’re watching out for one another. 

Sometimes that looks like saying “Hey, take an extra week on this task.” Other times, it’s stepping in completely to lighten the load. And honestly, a lot of it comes down to being radically honest with each other—like, “I’m hanging by a thread today, can we push this?” moments. These little acts of kindness have kept us aligned and reminded us that we’re not just a team, we’re a tiny, determined Gamsa family.

A Team We’re Proud To Be A Part Of

Our dreams for Gamsa Foods extend further than creating a warm, savory, and convenient breakfast option inspired by juk, a Korean rice porridge. It includes our brand values (stay tuned for more on this in January!), our vision for how we want Gamsa to be seen within the CPG world, and how we want to build and lead a team. 

As we mentioned, we’ve relied on each other A LOT and that was only possible because of the trust and respect we hold for one another. We know how rare it is to find people willing and capable of building something worthwhile from the ground up. After all, anyone can keep something running when it’s already been built, but who can build something that can actually keep running? That’s the dream.

As we wrap up 2024, I want to take a moment to thank each of you—our supporters, mentors, friends and family. and everyone cheering us on. Your encouragement means the world to us and has kept us moving forward, even on the toughest days.
